Kristina Besse is the office manager and a paralegal specializing in Personal Injury. She has dual degrees in Criminal Justice and Paralegal Studies and has been working for Attorney Sargent since 2016.
Janey Carvalho is a paralegal specializing in Criminal Defense litigation. She has a degree in Paralegal and Legal Studies and has been working for Attorney Sargent since 2020.
Jane Parsons is the office bookkeeper. She has over 30 years of experience in business and bookkeeping and has been working for Attorney Sargent since 2020.
Raegan Rose is a legal assistant specializing in Personal Injury. She has over 30 years of experience in customer service and joined Attorney Sargent’s team in 2024.
Dana A. Sargent, Esq., is the founding attorney of Sargent Law, PC in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Over the course of more than two decades in criminal defense practice, Attorney Sargent has represented thousands of individuals accused of criminal offenses and has successfully secured the dismissal of hundreds of cases through motions to suppress evidence or motions to dismiss charges. His extensive courtroom experience includes going to trial on more than 100 cases, ranging from relatively minor offenses, such as driving without a license, to highly complex felony matters, including murder cases. Attorney Sargent is certified by the Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) to handle District Court, Juvenile Court, Superior Court, Youthful Offender, and Murder cases. In his leadership role as Supervisor for CPCS Juvenile Bar Advocates in Bristol County, he works closely with judges, court personnel, and fellow advocates to coordinate the effective defense and representation of juvenile defendants throughout the court system. In 2025, he was the only attorney in Massachusetts to be awarded the Jay D. Blizman Youth Advocacy Award by the Committee for Public Counsel Services.
In addition to criminal matters, Attorney Sargent has a busy personal injury practice where he represents people injured in motor vehicle accidents, premises liability actions, and wrongful death cases. He is admitted and remains in good standing to practice before both the Massachusetts state and federal courts. Known for his strategic and client-centered approach, Attorney Sargent emphasizes delivering legal representation in a cost-effective, efficient, and results-oriented manner while vigorously protecting the rights, reputation, and future of every client he represents.
Attorney Sargent earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts and received his Juris Doctor cum laude from Suffolk University Law School. He is also an adjunct Law Professor at the UMass School of Law in Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
